Off-Highway Vehicle Trail System at Tate's Hell State Forest
The Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Trail System at Tate’s Hell State Forest provides an opportunity to ride off-highway motorcycles (OHM), all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and recreational off-highway vehicles (ROV) on more that 150 miles of designated trails on existing forest roads. While riding on the trails, forest users can expect to see various ecosystems, including cypress/titi swamps, blackwater rivers and pine flatwoods. Various species of wildlife, ranging from wading birds to deer, can also be encountered.
This OHV riding area was developed in 2005 in cooperation with Franklin County and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This is the first trail system developed under the T. Mark Schmidt Off-Highway Vehicle Safety and Recreation Act of 2002, which was designed to provide the public with more opportunities to ride off-highway vehicles on public lands.
OHV Fees and Permits
Florida Forest Service OHV permits are required for each OHM, ROV and ATV operating on state forests.
To purchase an annual permit, visit the web store at ReserveAmerica.com or call 1-877-879-3859.

Three-Day OHV Pass Offered
Tate's Hell State Forest is the location for the Florida Forest Service's pilot project for a Three-Day Off-Highway Vehicle Pass. The goals for providing this new pass are to better accommodate our visitors and to provide a reduced fee for limited use in lieu of the required annual permit.
The three-day $15 permit will be per rider and not per vehicle. To purchase a three-day pass, visit the web store at ReserveAmerica.com or call 1-877-879-3859.
