National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP)
The National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) is a national voluntary cooperative federal/state/industry program that uses disease control and prevention strategies to improve the poultry and poultry products produced by participants.
Ninety-five percent of U.S. poultry breeding and hatchery industries participate in the program.
Poultry and poultry products produced under the NPIP are allowed to be shipped interstate and internationally with few restrictions.
